he Santa Cruz Zone of the Trinidad & Tobago
Association of Retired Persons is one of eleven
(11) zones. We were officially opened on 16th July,
2013 by our present Honorary Secretary Mrs. Mayling
Younglao.
The foundation members comprised of Mrs. Janet
Ramsey and twenty-five (25) others, mainly of the
Bourg Malatresse R.C. Church. Our official meeting
place at Sun Valley Road is at the said Bourg
Malatresse Church Parish Hall on the 4th Friday of
each month. We are a group of fun loving seniors
who visit places of interest both inland and overseas.
These visits include senior citizens homes in the zone.
Every month we also celebrate birthdays with song and
refreshments.
We have had two (2) third place victories in island
competitions, the first was Mr. Andre Walker in the
year 2012 for the “Island Wide Talent Competition”
organized by the Ministry of Ageing. The second was
in 2013 organized by governing body for “TTARP
Members Can Cook Competition”.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE
TTARP SANTA CRUZ ZONE
Presently, we have seven (7) members- Naomi Mc
Lean, Mavis Mc Pherson, Gwyneth Cooper, Andre
Walker, Grace Walker, Joan Morrison and Inez Alexis,
who are exploring the exciting art of the Steel Pan. On
6th July 2014, the group made its maiden appearance
which the audience enjoyed immensely.
Our appreciation goes to our very passionate
drill masters Mr. Brent Villafana and Miss Jesssie
Mohammed.
We encourage all TTARP members who live in Santa
Cruz and environs to get involved in the Santa Cruzers,
and to attend monthly meetings.
